Batterson Park is officially complete, bringing a revitalized community space to the residents of Hartford, New Britain, and Farmington. The newly renovated park now features an upgraded main entrance and parking lot, event pavilion, amenities building, concessions, restrooms, maintenance facility, playground, splash pad, and a new kayak launch designed to enhance recreation and accessibility for visitors of all ages.

Led by Project Manager Samantha D’Agostino, CSG is proud to have served as Owner’s Project Manager on this transformative project alongside the City of Hartford and project partners Riverfront Recapture, Millenium Builders, BSC Group, and QA+M Architecture.

We were honored to help deliver improvements that strengthen community connections, expand recreational opportunities, and create lasting value for the region.

With summer break approaching, schools opening new or newly renovated facilities this fall should already be planning their move.

Project Manager Tim Smith has one key piece of advice for his clients: “Purge before you pack.”

Knowing what to keep and what to ditch when moving out of an old building can make the transition back in significantly smoother, and a successful move starts months in advance.

From coordinating FF&E deliveries to preparing staff moves, clear communication and early planning are essential to keeping the process smooth and stress-free.

Owners also play a critical role in a successful move — knowing the schedule, understanding when furniture will arrive, and helping teams prepare ahead of time can make all the difference.

Over the past few days, community leaders, Board of Education and building committee members, school administrators and teachers, state representatives, project partners, and residents gathered to celebrate the groundbreakings for the new Uncas and Moriarty Elementary Schools in the City of Norwich.

With these two projects now underway, Norwich has four active construction projects advancing as part of its comprehensive $385 million School Construction Program. Each groundbreaking represents an important step toward delivering modern, high-quality learning environments for students, educators, and families across the community.

These milestones would not be possible without the voters of Norwich, whose support helped move this vision forward. That continued public trust is central to the success of a program of this scale, and Mayor Swarnjit Singh’s commitment to keeping the community informed through the Mayor’s Dashboard on the City’s website reflects the importance of clear, consistent communication as progress continues.

CSG is proud to serve as Owner’s Project Manager for this second phase of the program, working alongside the City of Norwich, DRA Architects, O&G Industries, and the many stakeholders helping bring these transformative projects from planning through completion.

Congratulations to everyone involved as Norwich continues building the future of education for its students and families.

Construction progress is underway in Norwich!

Site mobilization started this month at Moriarty Elementary School and Uncas Elementary School as crews work to clear and prepare the sites for new construction. From tree removal and brush clearing to early groundwork, these first steps are setting the foundation for major improvements ahead.

Safety remains a top priority as chain link fencing and designated construction access points are put in place to maintain clear boundaries between school operations and active work zones. Working alongside partners O&G and CJ Fucci, our teams are continuing site preparation efforts while advancing toward upcoming earthwork, excavation, temporary parking, and foundation activities in the weeks ahead.

CSG is proud to support this next phase of the Norwich school construction program alongside Project Managers Samantha D’Agostino and Eileen Eagle.

CSG was proud to support the Open Hearth Association’s annual event this past Friday at J Under the Dome in Hartford.

President Jim Giuliano joined Eileen Eagle, Mike Faenza, Henry Boers, and Janet Wheeler of CBRE for an evening celebrating a mission that changes lives.

The event brought together friends and supporters for dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions, with proceeds directly supporting men experiencing homelessness and helping them to secure employment and permanent housing.

We’re honored to support organizations like Open Hearth that make such a meaningful impact in our community.

For more than a decade, CSG has been proud to support Enfield Public Schools through projects that strengthen learning environments across the community.

Our work in Enfield began with the $103M renovate-as-new consolidation of Fermi and Enfield High Schools into the new Enfield High School campus, followed by the award-winning renovation of John F. Kennedy Middle School and roof replacement projects at several elementary schools.

From its early mill villages to its continued investment in education, Enfield’s story is one of growth, reinvention, and community. We’re grateful to play a role in projects that support students, educators, and families for generations to come.

Final images of the new South Norwalk Elementary School project, captured by Red Skies Photography, offer a look at a thoughtfully designed new elementary school created to serve the South Norwalk community, with modern classrooms, flexible learning environments, and welcoming outdoor spaces that support students and families. Designed by Tecton Architects and built by Newfield Construction, the new school also helps relieve overcrowding in other district schools.

More than a new building, this project represents a meaningful investment in the neighborhood and in the student experience. It is a strong example of how thoughtful planning and community-centered design can come together to create a modern neighborhood school — the first new neighborhood school built in South Norwalk in more than 40 years.
