Quiet obedience in a loud world. 5LHomestead is located in South Central Missouri and is committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ along with the knowledge that He has given us in being as self-sufficient as possible through the growth of our own food and raising our own animals. We strive to share truth and allow others the knowledge needed to make the best decision possible for their family.

“And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, ‘KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.’” — Revelation 19:16

We live in a world that wants us to bow to something.

Whether it be money, popularity, comfort, government, or even ourselves.

Everywhere you look there is something demanding your attention, your loyalty, and your obedience.

But there is only One worthy of it.

The world will reject Him. It will mock Him. It will do everything in its power to remove Him from every corner of society.

But that does not change Who He is.

Christ is still King and He was King before this generation and He will still be King long after it is gone.

Every nation will answer to Him. Every ruler will answer to Him. Every person will answer to Him.

So the question is not whether Jesus is King. The question is whether we are living like He is.

Because if He truly is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, then He deserves more than our words.

He deserves our obedience.

Store-Bought caramel sauce is full of ingredients that most people don't even have in their home and companies do not even have to disclose what is in their "natural ingredients".
To be honest, we probably don't even want to know what they are. So let's make some with just a few simple ingredients!

Caramel sauce

Ingredients:
¾ Cup Sugar
3 Tbls Butter
⅓ Cup Heavy Cream
Salt
Vanilla

Directions:
Start by adding 3/4 cup of sugar to a heavy bottomed Skillet or saucepan. Put this over medium heat and babysit it until it starts to melt stirring continuously so your sugar does not burn. Don't panic when the sugar starts to clump together while melting. Just keep stirring and it will all smooth out. Once sugar has completely melted and has no clumps left. Add in 3 tablespoons of softened butter. Whisk until smooth and then add in 1/3 cup of heavy cream. Be careful this will bubble profusely but stir continuously until everything comes together and is smooth. Once everything comes together, take off the heat and add in salt and vanilla. Measure these with your heart and then store in a jar at room temperature.
Add to coffee, ice cream, or eat by the spoonful 😏

“Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; ” — Philippians 1:27

We are being watched on all sides.

On how we handle situations.
On how we talk to someone who insults us.
Even on someone who insults Who we believe in.

Of course, we cannot be perfect, and we will fall and fail many times before we are made new.

But what if we acted in a manner worthy of Christ?

When they spout hate toward us, our beliefs, and our God, what if we spoke truth and nothing more?

I am not saying we go around preaching the "Jesus is love" narrative. But what if we spoke truth without hurling insults back?

What if our conversations were always presented in a way as though Jesus was listening?

What if we gave to the poor and took care of the widows?

What if we loved our neighbors enough to tell them the truth, even when it was unpopular?
What if we were known more for our obedience than our opinions?

More for our faithfulness than our arguments?
More for our fruits than our frustrations?

The world does not need more people claiming Christ with their mouths and denying Him with their actions.

It needs believers who are willing to stand firm in truth while reflecting the character of the One they follow.

We are not called to be perfect but we are called to strive every day to live in a manner worthy of the gospel.
