t you need another individual for. Having said that, I would consider an hourly contract arrangement as an independent contractor for projects on jobs wether or not you have your own crew present. I will entertain serious contract inquires only. I've been in the building and remodeling trades since 1987. I have 30 years plus experience in the residential and light commercial, building remodeling and repair business. Involving everything from small repairs to multimillion dollar homes. I have worked in three parts of the country working for myself as well as working as a subcontractor and an employee for other contractors. I have run carpentry and painting crews, supervised large construction projects, operated and maintained heavy equipment. Ground breaking to turn key. I am capable of performing any building related task, a good part of my experience is in finish carpentry, kitchens baths, millwork, cabinetry and boat building. My original woodworking experience was as a shipwright’s apprentice at one of the only boat yards on the east coast that to this day still does wooden yacht restoration, Dutch Wharf Boat Yard, Branford Connecticut, where I started my working career and worked for 5 years. I was exposed to fine woodworking and finishing work there and have maintained that standard of quality in my own work. Up until the recent past I lived and worked on Nantucket for 13 years from 2002 - 2015. For the first several years I initially worked for a high end building contractors, O’Cconnor Custom Builders and also Kent Murphy Building. They did construction, renovations and remodeling work for several very wealthy, high profile clients. I’ve been entrusted with the responsibility of working on and looking after their properties, among which included Bob Wright, former CEO of NBC and Vice President of GE. as well as many other wealthy clients and restauranteurs. On my own I’ve done work for Tim Russert, Looked at work for Frank and Cathy Lee Gifford, met Chris Matthews. In the past worked as a painting contractor, running my own crew of 8, for the company that built Jackie Onassis’s retreat on Martha’s Vineyard, The Weatherly Company. I met Jackie Onassis on two occasions as well as her dear friend Bunny Mellon. *Note, I’m only bringing this out, not to brag, but to show I know how to conduct myself with clients and deal with people of high caliber. For the last 8 years I worked on Nantucket for myself, I busied myself care-taking homes, doing building, remodeling, maintenance and repairs for my own personal clients. I also did remodeling, repair and maintenance for several restaurants including responding to and handling emergencies which entailed at times dealing with plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling also repairing or replacement of kitchen appliances and equipment. For eight years I worked almost exclusively for a client who owns a 8,000 sqr. luxury home and guest house on Nantucket as well as his water front home in Marblehead Ma. taking care of any of his building, repair and maintenance needs, I supervised others as well as personally performed repair and maintenance tasks. I was in contact with the owner of the property often as he was the individual who hired me directly. I can provide a personal references from him. What I tell people who ask me what it is that I do, is that it’s better for you to tell me what it is you need done. Reasons is because that what it is that I do is so diverse that I can’t tell you everything I do, the list is too long. (Tongue twister of the day.) As part of these work experiences above over the many years I’m well accustom with dealing with the public, and when necessary have done tasks when required such as, design and drawing work, estimates, writing contracts, schedule tasks, material lists, deal with crews and employees, writing reports, billing, banking and bookkeeping. I am a US citizen, I have a valid drivers license, Transportation: Chevy Silverado Heavy Duty 4wd Pickup, My own tools and equipment. I don’t smoke, never did. I have never used illegal or recreational drugs not even marijuana. Also I’m not a regular alcohol user or even a social drinker.
