Building Your Dream Home? Start With the Details That Matter!

Building a custom home is about more than beautiful curb appeal. It’s about creating a space that works for your lifestyle today and for years to come.

With over 40 years of experience in custom home building, Fedewa Homes shares 4 essential tips to help you plan a home that’s as functional as it is beautiful:

🔌 1. Plan the Details – Think ahead about electrical outlet placement, HVAC controls, and lighting locations for everyday convenience.

🪟 2. Design for Flow – Consider window placement, natural light, and furniture layouts to make every room feel comfortable and connected.

🏡 3. Build for Your Lifestyle – Plan for your future, from growing families to pets and your everyday routines.

📦 4. Prioritize Storage – Mudrooms, laundry rooms, and spacious pantries can make a big difference in keeping your home organized.

The best custom homes are thoughtfully designed from the inside out. Planning these details early can help you create a home that feels right for the way you live.

🏡 Planning to Buy Land and Build Your Dream Home? Avoid These Costly Mistakes!

Buying land is an exciting first step toward building your dream home, but overlooking important details can lead to unexpected expenses and delays.

Before purchasing a lot, make sure you:

✅ Verify utility access – Check whether water, electricity, sewer, and other essential services are available and what it will cost to connect them.

✅ Get a professional review – Have the property evaluated to identify potential issues before making a commitment.

✅ Check flood risks – Research flood zones and drainage conditions to help protect your future home and investment.

✅ Review property easements – Understand any restrictions or rights of way that could affect where and how you build.

A little research before you buy can save you time, money, and headaches down the road!

At Fedewa Homes, we believe building your dream home starts with making informed decisions. 🏠
