Fixing other people's mistakes is very common nowadays with contractors. We all make mistakes, some a lot less than others. Do yourself a favor and heavily vet who you are hiring. A referral is a good start, but it's not 100% guaranteed; it's a start, being the key words. Start with someone you know and trust who said, 'Use this guy.' Ask questions, use Google, use Facebook, read comments, and again ask alot of questions. A good contractor will not hesitate to spend alot of time answering questions and discussing the scope of work. Don't spend thousands on a new kitchen only to have it refinished in a few years. I cannot stand to see people, let alone elderly people, being screwed over day after day in this area; it's a pandemic. A lot of the issues are with the pop-up guys who come around for a year or two and then disappear. Not always the case, though - this contractor who murdered this cabinet finish job has been around for years. At the end of the day, it was my pleasure to give this client what she had always wanted: to spend her days baking in her kitchen with her beautiful white cabinets.
