There’s something truly special about being part of a small town — the sense of community, the familiar faces, and the pride we share in supporting one another.

We had the privilege of feeding the Sumrall High School Cheerleaders Friday night before the game, and what a joy it was! Such a fun evening filled with laughter, good food, and great conversation. What an amazing group of young ladies!

When HGTV Goes Too Far…

This is a first for us — having to replace a second story due to a DIYer! In this case, the original homeowner decided to turn their single-story home into a two-story — but used 2x6s as floor joists. 😬

When the new buyer moved in, the house was literally starting to fall apart, and they thought it was a foundation issue. After inspection, we discovered it wasn’t the foundation at all — it was the homemade second story!

Our team stepped in, safely removed the roof and second story, and are now replacing everything with the correct floor joists designed to actually support a two-story home.

So here’s the takeaway: Remodeling, rebuilding, or adding on to your home is exciting — but it’s not the time to trust TV shows or “close enough” fixes. Call the JHC first!!

✨ We do it all — BIG and small! ✨

This past week our crew wrapped up a small deck with a ramp and stairs for a client’s dad who needed easier access to his home. At the same time, we’ve been busy finishing a backyard transformation with a huge new deck complete with 3 sets of stairs and beautiful railings. Talk about backyard goals!

It’s that time of year when decks become the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening gatherings, and we love bringing those spaces to life.

And today, another dream is starting to take shape as we cleared a lot on the water for a brand-new custom home build. Big projects, small projects — each one is coming to life, and we’re so thankful for clients who trust JHC to make it happen!

Green = GORGEOUS

These custom cabinets are coming together beautifully—and that Saybrook Sage? Absolutely stunning!😍

The cabinets are getting their final touches before being completed with fronts and drawers. Our electrician is finishing up, flooring is next on the list, and once everything is wrapped up, this home will be move-in ready!

Tornado Damage Repairs in Collins ⛪️

The roof damage on this church in Collins was caused by the last tornado that came through the area. As you can see in the photos, the damage was extensive—requiring a full roof replacement.

So far, our team has:
✔️ Replaced roof trusses
✔️ Added a new gable to the west side
✔️ Poured a slab for an upcoming addition

Once finished, the entire roof will be brand new!
We’re making steady progress and hope to have this church back up and running in no time. It’s always an honor to help restore not just buildings—but a place that is home to a church family!
