“Recyclable” and “accepted” don’t mean the same thing.
A material can be recyclable in general and still get turned away. It comes down to whether the recycler has a market for it, the equipment to handle it, and enough volume from your site to justify the pickup.
Our new guide covers what commercial recyclers accept and what they don’t, for cardboard, paper, industrial plastics, pallets and baled aluminum.
It also gives you a quick 4-question check to run on any material:
✔️ Is it one clear material?
✔️ Is it clean?
✔️ Is there steady volume?
✔️ Can it be stored dry and separated?
When a load gets rejected, the cause is usually the condition of the material, not the material itself.
