Anyone who is able bodied and trying to find a way to help, The Samaritans Purse disaster relief team is having an orientation tomorrow morning at 7:30. This is a great organization!!! Help is needed in many ways. When you go through orientation you will be placed where you are needed. I’m not sure about everything they do but I know they help with removal of flood damaged items and tear out of wet flooring and drywall. They are set up in the furniture store parking lot behind the Burger King at the intersection of hwy 55 and Glenburnie Rd. in New Bern. That’s where the orientation will be held.
I helped one family today and went searching for other people to help. What I discovered is people are not as likely to accept a stranger into their homes, but if you are with an organized group you can definitely be of more help!!! Please, if you are in a situation where you can spare the time, come to the orientation in the morning and get started giving back!! You’re community needs you now more than ever!!

Thanks to all of my customers who have been so patient while I recover. Surgery was a success, but recovery is s long process. Almost there now, see you all soon!
