Had a new furnace installed a few years ago on an apartment. Noticed on one of my checks that the floor drain isn’t draining. Option A was fix the drain. Unknown labor and costs and might have to be redone in a few years. Option B was put in a condensation pump and drain into the sewer. Cheap and reliable. Option B it is.

You might be a redneck if you use a jerky gun for grouting accent tiles. Works pretty good. Grout doesn’t dry out so you can take your time and any drips you can put back in the tube.

Totally not a cabinet guy. But my cabinet guy doesn’t want to be a small project cabinet guy anymore. So, I gave it a shot. 10”w x 31” tall inset in a bathroom. So far so good. Little wood filler and sanding and a coat of paint and it should work.

Turning an old basement kitchen into a storage area. Finally found the main source of cold air. Old rags used as batting but only half way around. The giant air gap between the vent and sill plate was completely open. Pink foam board and a can of foam to the rescue.

I hate sheet rocking and mudding right up to the shower edge since that collects water. Instead I shower bead about 2” out and then fill the gap with accent tiles and grout. Keeps the water from absorbing and ruining drywall/mud

People keep putting corrodible stuff under toilets. It swivels. It’s easier and shiny. I get it. When it rusts out you get leaks, leaks eat floors. Plumbing sweats. You need air gaps and non corrodible parts.
