👋 Meet Marcus!

We're excited to welcome Marcus Lujan to the Alvarez Drywall & Acoustics team as our newest Construction Superintendent!

Marcus brings more than 32 years of commercial construction experience and a lifetime of building. As a third-generation carpenter, he started working alongside his father at just 9 years old. Since then, he's helped build schools, performing arts centers, multi-story buildings, and countless commercial projects across Texas.

Throughout his career, Marcus has led crews of more than 150 craft professionals, mentored field foremen, and built a reputation for delivering quality work. In his role, he'll be supporting projects across the Permian Basin, San Angelo, and South Texas, helping our field teams continue delivering the quality our general contractor partners expect.

When asked what he enjoys most about construction, Marcus said: "Seeing an architect's vision on paper become a finished building that serves its community."

When he's not on the jobsite, you'll likely find him fishing, spending time with his family, or getting ready for another productive week. Marcus told us one of the things that attracted him to Alvarez Drywall was our family atmosphere, and we're proud to have him as part of our family.

Students are heading back to school, and we're proud to have been part of preparing Christoval Intermediate for the new year!

Thank you to Collier Construction for trusting our team on this beautiful project. Alvarez Drywall & Acoustics provided the framing, sheathing, insulation, drywall, acoustical ceilings, doors, and hardware that helped bring these spaces to life.

From bright classrooms and welcoming hallways to the impressive commons area, it's rewarding to see another school ready for students and teachers.

We appreciate the opportunity to help build spaces where future generations will learn, grow, and succeed. Best wishes to Christoval ISD for a fantastic school year!

The doors are open at the Diamondback Energy Athletic Complex, and we’re proud to have been part of it.

Alvarez Drywall & Acoustics was honored to work alongside Lee Lewis Construction on this incredible project. From drywall and finishes to what felt like miles of acoustic sound panels, this one was a blast to build.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this first-class facility to West Texas. We can’t wait to see it filled with athletes and families for years to come.

Yesterday, we spent part of the day at Hawley High School talking with students about careers in the skilled trades.

It was inspiring to meet so many students who are already passionate about becoming welders, framers, heavy equipment operators, and diesel mechanics. The level of curiosity, excitement, and eagerness to learn was incredible to see.

As a business located just a block away from Hawley High School, it was especially meaningful to connect with students in our own backyard and be part of an event that brings industry directly into the school day.

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was hearing from students who were curious about the many different paths into the construction industry. Several young women stopped by our booth to ask questions about careers in construction, leadership opportunities, and what it’s like to work in the industry. It was encouraging to see so much interest from the next generation of women entering the trades.

We are proud to partner with Hawley ISD and appreciate their efforts to create opportunities like this that help students explore meaningful career paths early on. The future of the trades is bright, and we are excited to see some of these students out in the field one day. 👏

We are incredibly thankful to be named a finalist for Family-Owned Business of the Year by the Abilene Chamber of Commerce.

It is such a blessing to work side by side with family and with people who feel like family, everyday.

To be recognized among the top 3 means so much to us. Knowing our work helps support the places that our community goes to learn, gather, heal, and grow is something we never take for granted.

Our team at Alvarez Drywall & Acoustics was proud to play a role in the construction of the new Natural Grocers location in the Shops of Abilene.

From demolition to finish, we completed framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, paint, doors, and hardware to help bring this space to life.
