LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION LABORERS
We are currently hiring for all field positions for the 2022 season who enjoy working outdoors and have a drive to be self-motivated with room for growth and education. Candidates must have their own tools, or be able obtain required tools within 6 weeks of employment. Required tool list will be provided upon request.
Prime candidates would be those responsible for:
● Completing landscape installation jobs of high quality and in an efficient manner using hand or power tools and earth moving equipment. Workers perform a variety of tasks, which may include planting, sod laying, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, mulching and irrigation installation.
● Safely operate equipment with all necessary personal protective equipment.
● Being able to troubleshoot problems and work with others are both excellent qualities to have for these roles. ● Experience in the industry is preferred but will train the right candidate..
● General knowledge of plumbing & electrical will be a great benefit.
● Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; overhead reaching; ability to work in various positions. Bending, kneeling, stooping, lifting, and digging are all requirements for this job, lifting up to 75 pounds frequently throughout the workday ● Must be able to use, operate, care and maintain all hand tools, power tools and construction equipment related to the trade. ( rakes, shovels, broom, pick, axe, rock hammer, digging bar, wheelbarrow, hand pruners, loppers, machete, sod roller, etc.) ● Pulling and pushing materials and equipment.
● All other duties assigned.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
● Digging holes and installation of plants, trees, grass and other plant materials.
● Mixes fertilizer and/ or compost as directed for planting.
● Maintain, cultivate and care of plant material owned or purchased by company.
● Installation of tree stakes as required.
● Hauling and installation of materials using a wheelbarrow and a rake.
● Hauling and installation of edging, w**d fabric, mulch, flagstone, ledge stone boulders, crushed granite, pavers, river rock, etc. ● Installs irrigation piping and valves.
● Tests completed irrigation systems for proper functioning of valves and timers.
● Locates, excavates and repairs or replaces damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
● Restocks work vehicles to ensure supply of necessary parts and equipment as used.
● Ability to operate landscape related tools i.e. w**d-eater, mower, hedge trimmer, skid steer, plate compactor, pressure washer, etc.
● Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle is a bonus.
● Ability to pull equipment trailer or wilting to be trained to do so is a plus.
● Check equipment before utilizing it, and notify supervisor of damaged equipment.
● Waters plants, trees, lawns using a hose, portable sprinkler system or watering can.
● Builds forms for concrete, mixes concrete and/ or mortar as needed.
● Installation of concrete block, flagstone, pavers as needed.
● Places decorative boulders and stones.
This is a seasonal job typically lasting from March through Mid-November. This job requires working in various weather conditions and it is expected that the employee will have the proper attire for the weather conditions.
Qualifications:
● Must have reliable transportation
● Must have a valid Driver’s License
● Must have “Clean” driving record
● Ability to lift 50 lbs.
● High attention to detail…the customer doesn’t see what we do, they see what we don’t do that they paid for. ● High ability to deal with ambiguity in a high stress environment while keeping your composure on and off the job. ● Available to work a varied schedule (including OCCASIONAL Saturdays) in all adverse weather conditions.
Full-time Pay: DOE
This job is open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED.A good fit for applicants with gaps in their resume, or who have been out of the workforce for the past 6 months or more. A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education. Open to applicants who do not have a college diploma
