Today is National Boss Day. On behalf of our employees and David’s family We want to show appreciation to our Boss and Owner of David Hicks Construction. David “Lil D” is a hardworking, caring, sacrificing and loving man. He has always went above and beyond for his family and business.
In 1988 he started the business along with his wife, Sandra and his son Braxton who at the time was just a year old. From the start David has had his family involved in the business. His wife would make runs with him in the 18 wheeler hauling different loads from state to state. He also brought his children, Braxton and Davida, up around equipment and big trucks. Both children enjoyed being with their dad on the job or in a truck from a small age. They both worked on several jobs with David over the years and both are still apart of the company. He taught his son Braxton how to drive a machine when he was only 6 years old. There could be some funny stories told by David of memories throughout the years.
Over the years he has worked hard to achieve his dreams and turned the company into a family legacy. Showing them what hard work was and teaching them what sacrifice was. He has worked daylight to dark on several occasions, but still made time for his wife & family. He has been a role model for his kids and instilled the value of hard work into his family.
David and his wife now have six grandchildren, Colton(11), Caylyn (8), Tucker (4), Brynlee (3), Hazely(2), Hagen (2 months). All six have fell in line with the love of big trucks, heavy machines, and dirt. He’s had all of them on a piece of machinery or in a big truck at some point showing them the ways of the business. I do believe this family business will continue on for many years to come.
We don’t say it often enough, but we appreciate you Dad!
Thank you and Happy Boss Day from your employees and family!
