💜 Su***de Prevention Awareness 💜

Sometimes the person who needs kindness the most is the one who never asks for it.

A smile doesn’t always mean someone is okay. A laugh doesn’t mean they aren’t hurting. And “I’m fine” doesn’t always tell the whole story.

Today, make it a point to check on someone. Sit with them. Listen without judging. Remind them that their presence matters.

💜 You matter. Your story matters. And there is always hope for another chapter.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. You never have to face the hardest moments alone.

National Library Card sign-Up Month! 🎶

09/02/2026

September is Su***de Prevention Month we just wanted to remind you that:

💜 Today’s Su***de Prevention Message 💜

“Your story is still being written. A hard chapter does not mean the story is over.”

You never truly know what someone else is carrying. A kind word, a phone call, a seat at the table, or simply asking “Are you okay?” can matter more than you realize.

Stay. You are needed. You are loved. Tomorrow needs you. 💜🩵

💜 Just Another Fun-Filled Day at the Senior Center! 💜

We had a little bit of everything going on today—and around here, we wouldn’t have it any other way! 😄

Our County Judge Executive Scott Alexander
Perry County KY Fiscal Court stopped in this morning to visit with the Seniors. They always enjoy seeing him, catching up, and getting a chance to chat for a while. We appreciate him taking time out of his busy day to stop by!

Meanwhile, we were BUSY behind the scenes! 😂 We tackled the mighty task of getting all the new pages added to the Seniors’ binders for the new month. 📚 If you saw papers, binders, and people hustling in every direction…no you didn’t! 🤣 We got it done! Thanks for your help Lauranetta Cornett behind the scenes getting the pages ready to put in the binders..she’s so helpful and it doesn’t go unnoticed!

While we were buried in binders, Sheila was in the kitchen cooking up breakfast and lunch keeping everyone fed. 🍽️

Then it was time to get out of the building for a little adventure! 🚌 We took an in-town road trip for our very first Mountain Mission Day! Sometimes you don’t have to travel far at all to turn an ordinary day into a fun outing.

Good company, good food, special visitors, a little work, a little road trip, and plenty of laughs—that’s a pretty good Senior Center day in our book! 💜
We also posted a few reminder around the center today, to help keep everyone safe and making sure everyone feels welcome!!

📦 Thankful for Our Helping Hands! 💜

Each month, we distribute commodity boxes to members of our community, and we are so thankful for the volunteers who give their time to help us get everything loaded and ready to go!

A special thank you to Lonnie Brewer, who always makes sure we have the help we need. He works to find volunteers for us each month, and if he can’t find someone, he shows up and does it himself! We truly appreciate knowing we can count on him. 💜

We also want to thank Kenny Stidham, Jimmy Lou Spencer, and my husband, Timothy Miller, for volunteering their time and lending a helping hand.

And even Caden jumped in this month and helped load the cheese! 🧀💪 We love seeing helping hands of all ages!

It takes a community to serve a community, and we are grateful for every person who gives their time to help our center and the people we serve. 💜

🎶 A Special Day of Music & Prayer 💜

We were blessed to have some wonderful members from County Line Community Church come and lead us in music and give a special performance for our seniors! 🎤🎶
Our seniors truly enjoyed the music, fellowship, and time spent together, and we are so thankful they came to share their talents with us. We certainly hope to have them back again soon!

To close out the performance, some of our seniors offered a special prayer for members of our community, as well as members of our own little center family, who are sick right now. 🙏💜 It was a beautiful reminder of how much love, compassion, and care our seniors have for one another and for our community.

Sheila lead Bingo, and even our own Paul Baker shared his talents on the stage! I am so thankful for all the helpers at the center 🖤

Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special and uplifting day! 💜
