What's beneath the pavement matters just as much as what's on the surface.
A roadway is more than a layer of asphalt. It's a carefully engineered system built from multiple layers that work together to support traffic, manage loads, and withstand years of wear from weather and daily use.
Each layer has a purpose:
Surface Course – Provides a smooth, durable driving surface.
Base Layer – Distributes traffic loads and adds structural strength.
Subbase – Improves stability and drainage.
Subgrade – The prepared foundation that supports the entire roadway.
At DCS Asset Maintenance, we understand that preserving infrastructure starts from the ground up. Proper maintenance and timely repairs help protect every layer, extending the life of our transportation network and keeping roads safer for everyone.
