The wait is over. Our once-a-year shipment of handmade Italian terracotta has arrived at MiX Garden — and it did not disappoint.

Over 250 stunning new pieces, imported directly from Italy and crafted by two world-renowned makers: Benocci Maurizio and Poggi Ugo. Some of these pots are massive — we’re talking just under four feet tall.

🍈 Melons are here — and we spotted a few surprises this week!!🍈

Tucked among our melon starts, we found three sweet little baby Ha’Ogen melons hiding in the group. We were so excited!!

We’re growing nine varieties this season, including the much-coveted Charentais and eight more beauties: Crane, Galia, Green Nutmeg, Hale’s Best, Hearts of Gold, Noir des Carmes, Petit Gris de Rennes, and the darling Ha’Ogen itself.

Plants have best friends too — and tomatoes are proof. 🍅🍅🍅

Companion planting is the simple practice of growing plants side by side because they genuinely help each other out. Fewer pests, better growth, happier garden.

Here are three tomato friendships we love:

🌿 Tomatoes + Basil — basil is said to repel aphids and whiteflies. Plus, they’re just meant to be eaten together.

🧡Tomatoes + Marigolds — marigolds are a garden MVP, keeping pests away and pollinators coming back.

🥬 Tomatoes + Lettuce — taller tomato plants give lettuce the shade it craves in warm weather, and lettuce fills in the space below beautifully.

The best gardens are a community, not a monoculture. Come in and we’ll help you mix + match. Can’t wait to see you!! 🍅🧡🍅

Meet our new Hydrangea — one of the most quietly spectacular plants in the garden right now.

It’s called Hydrangea serrata ‘Preziosa’!

This compact little shrub is a slow reveal. Florettes open pale green, then shift to yellow, cream, and white… before blushing pink, deepening to cherry and red, and finishing the season in rich wine. And the leaves play along — emerging with a purple tint, maturing to green, then turning deep red in fall.

Sun or shade. Shrub borders or containers. It does it all.

This hydrangea is just one of the special plants we have right now at MIX Garden.
