Hello Everyone,
We hope you are enjoying the cooler weather!

The Young Men's Service League has an offer for veterans who are subscribed to our flag program. Rockwall Breakfast Rotary is partnering with them in this patriotic effort and helping them coordinate. Please see the following from Amy Hilton, their Gift Chairperson and Assistant VP:

Subject: Military Flags Honoring Local Veterans

Young Men’s Service League, Rockwall-Heath chapter is proud to support local veterans by giving U.S. military flags to Rockwall County veterans this fall and would like to extend this special opportunity to customers of the Stars and Stripes flag subscription program. If you are a U.S. military veteran and would like a flag representing your branch of service to display at your home, please email [email protected] with the following information by Monday, September 30th.

Veteran’s Name

Military Branch

YMSL will be able to honor the first 75 requests for flags. *Please note that military flags will be installed by YMSL members prior to the Veterans Day holiday and will become the property of the homeowner to display as you wish throughout the year. The City of Heath boil notice has been lifted AND watering restrictions have returned to the Conservation Schedule, allowing watering 2x per week per the posted schedule: https://www.heathtx.com/water-wise/

07/25/2024

A Boil Water Notice is issued to protect public health when there is a potential for contamination in the water supply. During this notice, you should boil your water to ensure it is safe for consumption.

07/25/2024

CITY OF HEATH WATER CUSTOMERS ARE UNDER A BOIL NOTICE, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

FOR YOUR SAFETY AND HEALTH, please do not consume tap water. Loss of pressure in the water system was caused by a computer malfunction. Staff are in the field now manually refilling water tanks and assessing the computer glitch and necessary repair. More information will be released as it becomes available.

Upcoming Construction on Horizon Bridge, planned closure of I-30 main lanes overnight

TxDOT will begin work on an extensive construction project on Horizon Bridge, which crosses Interstate 30. The bridge will be closed Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd from 9pm-9am.

Friday Night (August 2nd, 2024): At 9pm, all eastbound lanes on I-30 will be closed at Horizon Road. All eastbound traffic will exit at Horizon Road, continue on the frontage road and re-enter I-30 just past the Home Depot Store. Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane starting east of 205. All lanes are expected to be open at 9am Saturday morning.

Saturday Night (August 3rd, 2024): At 9pm, all westbound lanes on I30 will be closed from exit 67 to Horizon Road. All westbound traffic will exit at exit 67/ Ridge Road in front of Walmart, and will continue on the frontage road to re-enter I30 on the Horizon Road entrance ramp. Eastbound I-30 traffic will be reduced to one lane starting at Horizon Road. All lanes are expected to be open at 9am Sunday morning.
Additionally, the underpass on Ridge Road will also be closed, making Goliad Street/205, John King Blvd, and FM 3549 the only roadways allowing north and south bound traffic during this time.

We want to stress the careful planning being done by our Police, Fire, and EMS teams to ensure this project goes smoothly and with minimal disruption. All affected businesses will be contacted to ensure they are aware of the upcoming closures and can make necessary arrangements. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as TxDOT works to improve our infrastructure. Specific information about traffic control plans to come.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Heath: water usage soared today and we have hit the 6 million-a-day max. Please stop watering so that we that we may possibly avoid going to Stage 2 -- watering once per week. Thank you for your help as the City continues to work on a plan for the future.

06/26/2024

As City Manager Kevin Lasher discussed in his City Council recap video this morning, water use is spiking due to increased irrigation during the hot and dry weather now upon us! Please help conserve and prolong going to Stage 2 (watering 1x per week) by following the schedule shown in the map below. The updated schedule is tied to trash collection days now. Active enforcement begins July 1. Mr. Lasher answers other frequently asked questions about water usage and pursuing additional supply, so please take time to watch!
