Preliminary design work: Usually when we step on site we can tell you what your options are for a septic system. This house is on a particularly small lot with serious limitations. Before investing too much time and money, we are exploring whether or not we can fit a new septic system digitally. In this case we will be using 2 recirculating textile filters paired with a subsurface drip system for the smallest footprint possible.

Septic system abandonment: Years after this house was built, sewer was installed in the street. When the septic system began to fail, we opted to connect the house to sewer.

Fun fact: every single home we’ve excavated this year has been a downhill lot and has required a sewer ejector or effluent pump (for the septic houses). This is one of three that we did in Skyridge this fall.
