Spiders . . They have feasted this summer on bugs and are now too big to hide from you. Or as I like to say - "gone Hulk size" About a quarter to 50 cent piece size with legs out.

Plus the spiders are on the move as the season begins to change. Moving indoors. Best time for a Fall exterior foundation spray and interior for you basement or crawlspace.

Are you travelling to visit family or to get away and refresh? Guardian Pest Solutions recommend picking up Hot Shot Pest Strips to put in your suitcase. These are v***r strips that help deter little hitchhikers like bed bugs.

When you return home, you can leave in the strips, put suitcase in a plastic bag and tie off. Leave for 2 weeks to let the v***r strips kill the bugs. Make sure you open the bag either outside or in a well ventilated area.

These wonderful Spring days are kicking in the mating cycle of Boxelder Bugs. They have been seen the last 4 weeks on warm days pouring out from underneath siding, in landscape rock. Smaller groupings but creepy all the same. Guardian call boxelders 'event' bugs, because the best time to spray is while they are emerging to break up the life cycle.

Brrr, Baby it is cold out !
So says the mouse seeking a warm draft wafting from your house. Sneaking in through a pinky finger sized gap, skirting the wall. OOOh, oven warm from baking. Refrigerator is cozy too. Sniff, fresh laundry. This pipe is a good bridge. So is the cable cord for climbing.

Some wonderful tips to enjoy your Christmas decor minus the creepy crawlies.

The NPMA and its consumer education site, PestWorld.org, offers this advice to keep pests from ruining holiday cheer:

Inspect Greenery: Wreathes, trees and garlands provide the perfect shelter for spiders and ticks, as well as their eggs. Carefully inspect and shake all greenery outside before bringing indoors, and routinely vacuum around the base of trees.
Unpack with Care: Stored for long periods of time — usually in attics, basements or garages — boxes of decorations can serve as ideal homes for insects and rodents. Unpack boxes and bins outdoors and check for signs of rodent droppings or gnaw marks.
Store in Plastic: When it’s time to pack up, use hard plastic containers with airtight lids rather than cardboard boxes. A sealed container can keep pests out and help preserve decorations.
Keep Wood at a Distance: Holidays at home are even cozier with a warm fire glowing in the fireplace. Store wood on a raised structure at least 20 feet from the home and brush it off before bringing indoors. Pests like termites, spiders and ants can get inside logs.
