Today, I would like to wish an extra special “Happy Father’s Day” to the extra special fathers I have been blessed to have in my life — Tom Rach (Left), John “Doc”Sessions (Middle) and Jaron Sessions (Right).
My father-in-law (“Doc” Sessions) is no longer here to celebrate with us today, but he left behind a legacy of generosity and care to all who knew his gentle and mischievous ways. I miss Doc terribly and am so thankful for all of the ways he helped to shape Jaron into the man he is today. He was a pretty special friend to me, too. ♥️
From the moment I was born, I was blessed with a “Daddy” (Tom Rach) who showed and taught me about Christ’s love. Watching my daddy’s daily self sacrifice and commitment to God and family made it easy for me to grow to know and trust my Heavenly Father — a Father my daddy taught me loved me even more than he did (and I knew that had to be a LOT!!!). For the record, I love my “Daddy” an awful lot, too. ♥️
Now, my children are blessed to be being shown that same love and example by the acts and decisions they see their daddy (Jaron) making for God and each of them every single day. I see their little hearts ever looking to him to ultimately help shape the way they view God and life, and it makes me pause and thank the Lord for men and fathers like Jaron that are willing to make the hard choices and choose what is right over what is easy.
To those of you out there that today may feel they have no father to celebrate, God tells us differently. The Bible says, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” 1 John 3:1 This verse tells us that we all have a Heavenly Father who chose us and wants us as His own if we will only believe on Him and trust in His name. He is a Father who will never leave, forsake or fail us. What a comfort this is and what an extra special reason to celebrate this Father’s Day!!
