Most people have never heard of fascia. But if it starts to fail, you will notice it fast. 🏡

The fascia is the board that runs along the edge of your roofline. It holds your gutters in place, gives your roofline a clean finished look, and protects the edge of your roof from moisture. When it starts to rot or pull away, your gutters go with it.💦

Here is what to look for:
🔍 Gutters pulling away or sagging along the roofline
🔍 Soft, rotting, or discolored wood along the roof edge
🔍 Paint peeling or bubbling on the board under your gutters
🔍 Gaps between the fascia and the roofline

Fascia damage is one of those repairs that looks small but causes big problems when it is ignored. Water gets behind it, wood rot spreads, and before long you are looking at a much bigger job. 💸

It is hot out there today, Henderson. 🌡️ Like, really hot. We have got an Extreme Heat Warning in effect and storms expected to roll in this afternoon.

If you have been noticing anything off with your roof, this is the week it is going to show. Heat expands and stresses shingles all morning, then the rain and wind hit in the afternoon. That cycle is exactly how small issues become big leaks. 💧
