A washed up baby gull? Gave him a good rinse, dried him off and he eventually flew off. Zoom in on #2, that's a little shrimpy I gave him in his mouth. Was able to toss him a few shrimps and fish which he/she promptly gulped down.

v2. 2023 has been weird. Mountains to coast, lots of looking for and waiting on contractors to show up for work. Almost there though!

How did we end up back in this overcrowded place? Don't know, been asking myself the same thing. God's Plan?

For some reason the picture just doesn't show the traffic. Felt like I was in DC at rush hour. I think half the trip was Asheville to Raleigh and the second half was the 20 miles Raleigh to Clayton.

Only here for one month. 😬 Then onwards to the beach! 🐚⛵ Two years tops. Maybe three. 😁 Already very much miss home! ⛰️

One of our last sunsets in Appalachia (for a little while). This stunning view was from the property of a couple of the great friends we made while here. The friends, views, nature and clean air are hard to leave even if for just a little while. But we will be back in a couple years. Right Liz??? 😬

My first Morel mushroom! 😝 I search a bit last year with no luck. Been searching for two weeks this year and finally found my first along with a few of his friends. Around an apple tree stump!

Tis the time of year to collect praying mantis egg cases (oothecas) for populating your garden with these natural ruthless pest killers!

Right now you should be able to spot these egg cases on still standing brush before the green starts coming in.
