A Brentwood homeowner spotted water stains spreading across their living room ceiling. By the time they called us, moisture had already traveled through the drywall and into the wooden framing behind it.

We removed the ceiling and portions of the exterior wall to expose the structure and get proper airflow around those saturated joists.

It looked dramatic, but it was the only way to prevent mold growth and save the framing.

Here's a quick way to tell: mold usually has a fuzzy or splotchy texture and often appears in patterns - following water stains or growing outward from a moisture source. It might be black, green, gray, or even white depending on the type.

But honestly? If you're asking the question, it's worth getting checked. Because if it IS mold, it doesn't go away on its own. It needs moisture to grow, which means there's likely a water issue behind it too.
