Happy Birthday to our Superintendent, Scott Boone! 🎂

If you’ve been on an RVA Contracting jobsite lately, you’ve probably met Scott—the guy with the "do it right the first time" attitude and the energy to match.

When he’s not keeping our commercial projects running like clockwork, Scott is a man of constant motion. Whether training in martial arts, hitting the gym, or pushing his limits on a mountain bike, he doesn’t really do "slow." But he also knows how to gear down and enjoy the local scenery, usually while hiking the trails at Pocahontas State Park with his family and their dogs.

Scott, we hope you take a well-deserved break from the blueprints and the subcontractors today to celebrate. We’re lucky to have your leadership and your energy on the team.

Ceilings: Generally better when they stay above your head. 👆

Nothing ends a morning meeting faster than the ceiling deciding it wants to be the floor. It’s one of those “is this actually happening?” moments that can stall a business for days.

When this office building had a sudden cave-in, we didn't just see a repair job—we saw a team that just wanted their workspace back. We jumped in to clear the chaos, repair the damage, and get everything back where it belongs.

We’re big fans of keeping the "overhead", well, "overhead". Glad we could help this crew get back to work (without needing hard hats).

Meet Scott: The Engine Behind Our Field Operations 🏗️

In commercial contracting, a project is only as good as the person running the site. That’s why we were so glad to have Scott Boone join us as Superintendent in May 2025. Scott lives the details, ensuring the transition from structural steel to high-end interior finish happens without a hitch. He’s a rare breed who is just as comfortable discussing rough framing as he is the fine aesthetics of custom trim. For Scott, the ultimate win is seeing a project cross the finish line so a client can re-open their doors for business.

When he’s not managing subcontractors, Scott stays active through martial arts and the gym, discipline that translates directly to his leadership on-site. On the weekends, he trades the blueprints for the outdoors, whether he’s mountain biking or hiking the trails at Pocahontas State Park with his family and dogs. Scott’s "do it right the first time" mentality is a cornerstone of our team, and we’re proud to have him leading our commercial builds.

Taking over a new lease is exciting, but moving into a space designed for someone else’s workflow just won't cut it.

We just finished up a project for a bank over in Chesterfield that needed their new office to actually feel like their office. It wasn’t just a coat of paint (though that helped); we tore down the walls of several cramped offices to create a collaborative conference room and gave the breakroom a much-needed "happy" overhaul.

It’s not just about "construction." It’s about walking into work on Monday and actually liking what you see. It's amazing what a few weeks of dust and some smart structural changes can do!

RVA Contracting is committed to rebuilding more than just structures in RVA.

We recently stepped away from the commercial sites to spend some time at Williams City Farms. If you aren’t familiar with them, they’re a non-profit urban farm doing incredible work: teaching our community how to grow their own food and stay sustainable.

We got our hands dirty helping with site cleanup, hauling timbers, and even assembling a new gazebo. It was a blast to support a place that introduces people to things they’ve never seen, like white eggplants, blue potatoes, and purple tomatoes (all pesticide-free!).

For us, "Contracting" is about more than just remediation—it’s about supporting the people and the green spaces that make Richmond home.
