This rustic kitchen island is made from repurposed oak from a couple different barns in Gasconade and Franklin counties. Both barns were originally built in the 1920’s. The bead board is from a building in historic Hermann. I’m happy that this will be a keepsake for my nephew Trent Leimkuehler and his bride

Barnwood farmhouse tables in the making! This is a lengthy process from the stack of lumber, to the table base, to the table tops! There is so much character in 100 year old lumber. I can’t imagine the men and women building barns from trees on their property. Every piece of lumber tells a different story!
