A blue tarp was the only thing keeping this porch dry.
The shingles on this Philipsburg home had been patched three different colors, and one section of the roof deck had rotted through. New wood went in first. Then charcoal metal, top to bottom, and the tarp came down for good.

Same spot on the lawn. Three months apart.

Wood shakes were hiding under this roof.
When we opened up this Mechanicsburg farmhouse, we found the original wood shakes and an old standing seam layer underneath. All of it came off. Then we hung new soffit and fascia and laid down a roof that will outlast the next owner too.

This cabin in Ashland hosts people most weekends, and the old gray shingles were wearing out under moss and tree debris. The owners wanted one fix that would hold up for decades.

Two doors in one opening.

Look close at this side door in Valley View. The dark one in front is a full-view storm door. Behind the glass is the entry door, with its own decorative glass and brass caming.

Why pair them:
☀️ On a nice day, the entry door stands open and the light comes in
🌧️ The storm door takes the weather first
👀 A full-view storm door is nearly all glass, so the door behind it still shows
