The scope of this project included a 150-foot extension from the homeowner's existing pier. The addition consists of a 134-foot-long pier that ends in a spacious 16x24-foot L-shaped deck. Furthermore, the project involved installing a 10,000-pound Tide Tamer boatlift equipped with a bunk setup for a tri-toon and a custom kayak launch positioned at the existing pier's start. A first for our team was the design and construction of a custom 4x4-foot Osprey nest base mounted on a 40-foot-long piling located 75 feet offshore from the deck. Rebellion Point in Weeksville, Elizabeth City, on the Albemarle Sound, was the site of this extensive project.
Lastly, but not least in the bit, this past week a fellow Marine Contractor who has been doing work in the area for many, many years was injured pretty badly in a freak accident doing some maintenance on his barge. We pass each other on the road a lot and often work in the same areas at times. This line of work can be very dangerous and things can happen in a blink of an eye. Layden Marine and his family are in our thoughts and prayers and we like to ask you to do the same. Please no comments on this, we just ask for prayers on a full recovery.
