About 4:30 today I was requested to do an Emergency repair on a busted pew at Corinth Reformed Church of Hickory
From where another contractor hit it with the boom lift.

Requested to have it done before the Pastor or Anybody else in the church saw it,
Requested it done by tonight
And charge what I needed

So, my regular customer, Corinth Reformed Church,
Called me to the Sanctuary as I was about to leave today at 4:30, all wrapped up, list done.
They've got another much larger contractor doing the interior lights of the church, and they ran into the pew today with their lift .. Boop!

He asked me if I could please fix that before the pastor or anybody else sees it, so they don't have an absolute Fit!
Requested me to fix it before I left tonight (Please) and charge whatever I needed.

Folks I'm not a finish carpenter by trade,
But I got to repair a piece of History tonight!!!

Next time you say "damn, must be nice" you might want to understand the lifestyle that it took to get where I am!

8-5 didn't make it.
Parking my ass on the couch to watch TV every night didnt make it.
Sleeping in on Saturdays didnt make it.
Calling in when sick didnt make it.
Being content with where we're I'm at didnt make it.

It came from some 15-20 hour days.
It came from beating the sun up.
It came from working on weekends.
It came from sacrificing family time.
It came from wanting a little better tommorow at the expense of today.

These are a few things to consider before you throw out "damn, must be nice" at someone! We are all products of our competence. And extra efforts are what make the biggest differences at the end of the day!

Sometimes you Just can't have Nice Things! LolThat's when you improvise!Thank God for good tools!!
