Kevin is on site at a kitchen remodel in Hicksville, and the new exposed beams are now set over the main cooking and gathering space.

The solid wood beams run across the ceiling where the old closed-in kitchen used to stop at the dining room wall, giving the room the open feel the homeowner wanted while keeping the structure exactly where it needs to be. Recessed lighting is wired and in place between the beams, and the white shaker cabinetry is starting to go up along the back wall. The cabinet boxes are being leveled and secured before the crown molding and trim details tie everything together at the ceiling line.

Kevin and team just finished a custom mantel and surround in Plainview. The mantel and built-in trim were milled from paint-grade poplar, fitted with mortise-and-tenon joinery, and finished in satin white enamel. A stacked-stone surround sits on a wide gray hearth so the wall reads as one piece, not a box stuck on the drywall.
