Answer is yes , if you don’t it will cause leaks , However

Carpenter bee removal in Long Island is not always a job for an exterminator, this is a garage that carpenter bees have overrun the Fascia boards of a garage ..front and back,, they tunneled right through the entire length of the fascia boards.. they drill a perfect 1/2 hole ..I replaced it with PVC trim which they can no longer bore through it

this is a lifetime garden shed 8 by 10 i just built it in merrick, or i should say rebuilt it , because it was attemted to be put together by day labor, I want to thank you ann for writing me such a nice review
