A CUSTOM ENTRYWAY TRANSFORMATION

This entryway started as a simple builder-grade space with plain walls and minimal character. Our goal was to create a welcoming first impression filled with color, texture, and timeless architectural detail.

The transformation included:

✔ Custom wainscoting installation
✔ Statement botanical wallpaper
✔ Painted vintage console in a rich blue finish
✔ Updated mirror and styling accessories
✔ Layered décor for a polished designer look

The addition of the wainscoting completely elevated the space, adding depth, character, and a custom-built feel that perfectly complements the colorful wallpaper above.

Now, instead of simply passing through, this entryway makes a statement the moment you walk through the front door.

When we first met this client, we knew right away—she loved color. Lots of it.

And if you’ve ever designed an open floor plan, you know that’s where things can get tricky. Open spaces don’t always play nicely with bold colors. Without a plan, things can quickly feel choppy, disconnected, or overwhelming.

So instead of trying to force color onto every wall, we started with a neutral foundation using Sherwin-Williams Minimalist. Ironically, there’s nothing minimalist about this client—and that’s exactly why it worked.

The soft, neutral backdrop gave us the freedom to create intentional moments of color without overwhelming the space.

We designed three oversized architectural panels, trimmed them out, and painted the molding in Sherwin-Williams Debonair. Then we installed this gorgeous colorful wallpaper from Spoonflower to bring in all the personality she was craving.

To keep the design flowing throughout the open floor plan, we also carried Debonair onto the main accent wall in the background. The result feels connected and cohesive without those awkward visual breaks that can happen in large open spaces.

Proof that loving color doesn’t mean every wall has to be colorful. Sometimes the boldest designs come from knowing exactly where to let color shine.

Island Lighting Is Evolving ✨

For years, the standard was simple: a couple of small pendant lights over the island. Lately, though, we’re seeing a shift toward larger-scale statement pendants that bring more presence, texture, and personality to a kitchen.

In this project, we replaced the original builder-grade pendants with these oversized layered fixtures, and the difference is incredible. The kitchen instantly feels more custom, more intentional, and more connected to the rest of the home.

As open-concept living continues to dominate, homeowners are choosing lighting that feels less like a utility and more like a design feature. Bigger fixtures help anchor the island, create visual interest, and give the space that designer-finished feel.

And yes, that’s my son helping hang the second fixture. 🖤

Most people think beautiful bedrooms come from expensive furniture.

Truthfully?
Most designer spaces are built with layering, lighting, texture, scale, and intention.

This is the difference between:
“we bought furniture”
and
“this room feels like a luxury retreat.”

A few things that instantly elevate a bedroom:
• oversized pillows
• warmer lighting
• layered bedding
• longer drapes
• larger rugs
• texture instead of clutter
• fewer, better pieces

The craziest part?
Most of these changes are affordable.

Luxury isn’t always about spending more.
A lot of times it’s simply knowing what actually makes a room feel expensive.

And honestly…
good styling will make IKEA look custom. 😂

Most people think beautiful interiors come from buying expensive things.

Honestly?Most of the time it’s just layering done well.

The right texture beside the right texture.A warm wood tone next to soft linen.A deep olive velvet balancing creamy neutrals.Lighting that softens everything instead of overpowering it.

That’s the difference between a room that feels flat… and a room that feels collected, grounded, and lived in.

When I design spaces, I’m usually thinking less about “matching” and more about emotion.How the room feels at night.How the textures interact.How your eye moves through the space.How to create warmth without clutter.

This board is very much that feeling for me lately — earthy greens, aged brass, natural fibers, warm ceramics, layered textiles, and soft contrast.

Quiet luxury isn’t really about luxury at all.It’s about intention. ✨
