Between the grass and bumpy road, they were ready for their driveway to be fixed.

So we graded out the entire driveway, rolled it with our vibratory roller and then brought in over 100 tons of material so we could create the correct structure.

Open culverts can be a bad idea. Especially when they are where you want to drive.

She needed us to get the water coming from above the driveway over to the other side but didn't want an open culvert. So we put in a storm drain that captured the water on the surface, but could handle any truck or car that needed to drive over it.

Then we fixed the driveway itself and compacted it with our vibratory roller.

Now she has a hard, smooth driveway that is protected from the weather and will last for years to come.

They had a washed out road that was too narrow.

So we came in and widened it by 5 feet and graded it so the water would flow the correct way off the road.

Then we compacted it with our Hamm HC50i vibratory roller.

Grass had taken over this driveway. So they had us come in and fix it.

We turned everything over, removed the grass, and then brought in new material.

And if you have someone tell you that 1.5 inches is enough depth for new material, our 115 5-star reviewers will tell you they are wrong. You need at least 3 inches of coverage if you don't feel like dealing with your driveway again next year.

This road was so cupped that the water had nowhere to go.

So we graded it from top to bottom.

We filled the ruts and then did the most important part...

We compacted them with 15,500 pounds of compaction!

You don't get that by driving over it with a skid steer. At best, it's about 635 pounds of compaction per foot.

When you don't compact the material that filled the ruts, the rut will come back. And that is if you don't put any more material on it.

But he wanted a permanent solution. So we then brought in large aggregate and crusher run, about 308 tons between the two.

Now it has a beautiful crown. It is very hard due to the compaction. And because we compacted, we don't leave anything to chance.

All our hard work, our time shaping the gravel so the water would move to just the right spots, all of that is locked into place.

This one's a little longer than our usual posts, but if you know us, you know we've always believed in being transparent.

First, thank you. Truly.

The amount of support you've shown World Foods over the past several years has been incredible. We never take it for granted, and we're beyond grateful to this community for continuing to choose us. Because of you, we've grown more than we ever imagined.

With that growth has come some growing pains.

Lately, we've found ourselves struggling to keep up with the volume while still delivering the quality and service we've always expected from ourselves. Our longtime employees have been carrying an incredible workload every single day through some recent management changes, and they're giving it everything they've got. We couldn't be more thankful for them.

So here's what we're doing about it.

We're hiring.

We're looking for people who genuinely care about doing things the right way. Experience is always a plus, but attitude, work ethic, and caring about our standards mean just as much to us. If that sounds like you, we'd love for you to apply.

To help us get back where we want to be, we'll also be temporarily closing on Mondays.

That extra day isn't a vacation day. It'll be dedicated to training new team members, getting caught up on prep, organizing for the week ahead, and giving our crew the time they need to build a stronger foundation. Our goal is simple: to make sure that Tuesday through Saturday, we're serving you the quality food and timely service you've come to expect from us.

Our standards haven't changed, and they won't.

This is simply us taking a step back so we can keep moving forward the right way.

I slid off the secondary road they were using to get to their house when I visited for the quote, right after a rain.

They had always wanted to use the main road to get to their house, but it was so torn up and overgrown, that was impossible.

In fact, we could hardly see the main road when we got there.

They had a hard, durable road by the time we left.

The main road was so steep at 30% grade that the automatic dump trucks didn't have enough "get up" to get up the hill.

So we had to bucket the gravel about 800 feet of the road, until we finally got it good enough that they could back up it.

Let's just say, it was a challenge. And we accepted it and conquered it.

He and his friends were tired of their trucks getting muddy every time they came or went.

So we graded the road to fix the water flow and we widened it to make it easier to get his trailer in and out.

We talked with him this weekend and it was doing great with the rain and no more mud.
