Hillsboro Electric Company Inc. Don't Fuss Call Russ History:
Hillsboro Electric itself has been in business since the early 1900's.

Russ Jones has ran the business for 31 years, 20 of which he and his wife Kelli have owned it. Russ is not only an owner but has been doing electrical work himself for over 37 years now. Experience:
Collectively our electricians have over 55 years in the field. One of which also has experience in the carpentry field for when a job requires more attention. Service/Capabilities:
The business has two

bucket trucks, one capable of setting/replacing poles, a small walk behind trencher, a larger trencher with back hoe, two different boring tools for when the situation is in need of something more precise or less of a mess, a 20' scissor lift for jobs requiring height and speed, and countless other tools for every application. We provide new and continued service for residential, commercial, industrial, and farm needs. We also do complete set up of new generators including the concrete pad and have three employees certified for warranty repairs and yearly service work on them. Why Choose Hillsboro Electric:
The business sticks to a strong but simple idea, we won't do something to your house we wouldn't do in our own. All of us are local residents and almost always have someone available for your emergency needs and just remember our motto, "Don't fuss call Russ".

We are very happy to be a part of maintaining the World Needs God sign. The sign is dear to our boss and owner Russ Jones. He and our business has maintained the sign at our or his own expense since Russ and Joel Lohr moved the sign to the church building, around 20 years ago.
Russ and Joel made a commitment that they would work together to maintain this important part of our town history and supply whatever the sign needed to stay lit. T***s Tubing (ran by Judy Zummwalt) has made any neon tubes we have needed since 2010 when Joel passed away and she too has made donations.
Last fall we were in a bind due to the sign failing while Judy from T***s Tubing was on vacation. We were fortunate that Jeff Dunn was happy to help us get the sign going in her absence and also made his own donations.
After several discussions with Jeff, it was decided to completely revamp the sign.
The neon was replaced, the front porcelain was restored, new sockets were installed, new wire was ran, and a new better, and hopefully long lasting transformer was mounted. A new box, hand hole covers, and mounting brackets were made by Gabe Murphy and Dustin Jones whom also made donations

We'd like to thank everyone involved in helping our company get this piece of history back together and for those who have helped us maintain it for the last 20 years.

Well we are happy to say we were able to fix the World Needs God sign today so it should be lit for Old Settlers tonight.
We had a bad transformer which we were able to replace with a used one we had, a burned high voltage line, and two bad tubes which we greatly appreciate Jeff Dunn fixing for us.

The sign is very old and I believe Jeff is raising money to do some serious work to it but until then we hope our fix will hold.
