Spring has arrived, at least that is what the birds are telling me. What is the weather expected this year? Busy and sometimes extreme. Do you have a plan for the upcoming power outages? WE CAN HELP!

Our techs stay busy year round, proactively performing correct maintenance, including engine stress testing with external, controlled load in order to verify the engine response to different load stages. Your voltage, the electrons that support your electrical loads, follow your engine response. Too much lag or slowness in the response or too quick or erratic response to load drops, WILL, effect the LONGEVITY of your appliances that attach to the generator source. If your current entity, that has contracted with you to take care of your generator, does not annually stress test your generator, they are leaving you exposed to failure and or cost associated with replacing large or small electrical components associated with your home. Just grey and compartment tan but when they are needed, for durations 20 years plus, our system representation is successful for basically any brand! It is not necessarily who makes it, its more about who takes care of it! Everything else , just marketing!😃😃😃

What is the best generator on the market? Well that depends on who is asked. Thru our practices over the last several years, we would have to say, any generator E&W Electrical, LLC represents, but we do have our favorites, the Kohler 20RCA, installed and configured correctly has the best engine response to load connection and disconnection. We have over 30 years of stress testing results, thousands of machines, in all kinds of environments, all levels of temperatures and conditions. We have used external load for over 30 years to stress every machine prior to placing online and then servicing annually thru annual stress test, WE HAVE THE HISTORY & THE DATA!

IT MATTERS!

Footnote: We have installed and taken care of most all brands, initially a lot of Generac product, thousands. For past equipment, proactively serviced which includes load testing with external load, our machines have been quite successful and their engine response has been calibrated correctly to ensure this. It matters who provides you a standby source, well thought out systems, proactively taken care of thru consistent stress for the machines provides the best chance for success for whatever product.

We recently said goodbye to an old friend, a 100 KW diesel Kohler, 277/480 volt generator. After keeping her successful for near 20 years, after short & long outages, 20 stress test working her up to her output capacity using external controlled load, part shortages caused by the pandemic, created concern she could still be there, successfully when asked. We spoke to her and she agreed, stepping down was an honorable path and agreed it was time to let a new machine support the standby generator needs of the university. Starting her reign in the 70's supporting her structures was her dream, she did live it, we hate to see her go.

But her replacement, a Kohler 125 KW natural gas unit, was eager to get started. It was a tough birth, manufacturing delays, manufacturer problems which became a real nightmare during and after the pandemic; stretched the patience of all those involved. After multiple months of planning and prep work necessary in removing our old friend, our new friend was put into place, using some of the infrastructure left by a very successful machine. With the new 125 KW in place; thru load testing the machine, found and repaired some manufacturing hiccups; again problems created by the waste of the pandemic, then placed the new product online.

Will the new kid be as successful as the tried and tested machine of the past, time will tell but either way we at E&W Electrical, LLC, have the the knowledge, the resource, and the will to make sure for whatever machine we put into service, it does the job intended. We will keep you up to speed with new history going forward.
