Hello FaceBook world,
Many of you have been watching the progress of the Coffee Shop in the lower Hamlet of Hillsdale behind the Roe Jan Brewery. The building was completed this summer, however during the health department review it was discovered that the Town of Hillsdale run the sewer main for the lower Hamlet within 3 feet of the existing Coffee Shop well in violation of New York State health code (for private or public wells). The Columbia County Department of Health notified the Town of this situation in September.
To date even through the coffee shop has been completed, kitchen inspected and the water tests clean it will not be allowed to open until this situation has been addressed to the satisfaction of the Columbia County Department of Health.
Hopefully this will be resolved in the coming year and we can all get coffee and breakfast sandwiches on our way to Harringtons in the near future.
