We had a heck of a turn out and some great presentations at our growers meeting today. I want to say thank you to Liz Edmundson with the Montana Pulse Crop Committee for the collaboration in putting on this event! Also thank you to our presenters Janet Knodel (professor and extension entomologist from NDSU), Tiziana Oppendisano (Assistant Professor of entomology and insect ecology at Montana State University), and Brett Melvin (Senior Trader / President of Maviga).

Lastly than you to all the producers who took time out of their schedule to attend and to the crew at the Hiway bar for providing a great lunch for our crowd.

Exciting updates happening, our new truck scale is up and running! No more need to split weigh trucks or wait for pits to empty to get your outbound weights. This scale will help us be more efficient saving our farmers valuable time spent during the unloading process.

With harvest fast approaching it is important we take time to ensure that pulse crops are being handled with care. Keeping splits, and skins in lentils, as well as cracked seed coats / splits in peas to a minimum gives us the ability to market the crops to higher end buyers who are willing to pay a premium which allow us to keep our prices higher.
