Ep. 10 — What This Boardwalk Actually Cost

Most contractors will never show you this. We're showing you all of it.

Anthony opens the books on the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse boardwalk — more than $728,000 in material and payroll, and we're still not finished. Pilings driven into the ground. Fibergrate FRP decking. Treated dimensional lumber, stringers, joists, and railing. 316 stainless hardware, because anything less doesn't survive out here. Splinter-free Owens Corning handrail. And every certified payroll week our crew put in on that site.

Here's what that number doesn't include: barges, excavators, cranes, trucks, trailers, bits, blades, insurance, bonding, permitting, warranty. Every machine and every mile it takes to run a company that can build on federal ground. That's the difference nobody explains — cost is what we spend, price is what it takes to build it right, stand behind it, and still be here when you call in ten years.

And every dollar of it stayed home. Pilings, dimensional lumber, and the Owens Corning handrail came from Southern Pine Lumber in Stuart. All the stainless hardware came from Marsh Fasteners in Jupiter. Our crew works out of Hobe Sound. A federal project built with Treasure Coast material, from Treasure Coast suppliers, by a Treasure Coast crew.

Ep. 9 - Rapid-fire dock & boardwalk details from the Jupiter Lighthouse Boardwalk plans.
Anthony walks through the key specs on the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area boardwalk — straight from the drawings.
• ~750–900 linear feet of elevated public boardwalk along the Loxahatchee River shoreline
• Roughly 7,500–8,500 square feet total, varying 8 to 16 feet wide
• Open-grated Fibergrate (FRP) decking specified throughout — corrosion-resistant, slip-resistant, and designed so sunlight reaches the seagrass beds below
• Approximately 180–220 pilings driven to plan depths (minimum 25' soil embedment and minimum 9 ton capacity — we exceeded both)
• 316 stainless hardware and marine-grade connections for the coastal environment
• ADA-compliant access while protecting the Outstanding Natural Area’s habitat and scenic character
This boardwalk is built for resilience and longevity in a high-energy marine setting next to one of South Florida’s most iconic landmarks.
Full documentary drops soon — Anthony goes rapid-fire through the details straight from the plans.

Ep. 8 — Anthony walks through the Jupiter Lighthouse boardwalk details. We’re not just restoring what was here. We’re building it bigger, better, and open to everyone: ADA-compliant access and viewing areas, a floating dock, custom handrails, and expansive overlooks. America Strong Construction is proud to build the foundation for the hundreds of thousands of visitors who’ll experience this landmark every year. And yes — fishing events are coming. 🎣

Ep. 7 is HERE — and the Jupiter Lighthouse Boardwalk is taking shape fast. 🇺🇸🔨

Anthony breaks down a big week of milestones: framing crews are rolling west to east while the barge crew keeps hammering away, steady drilling at the concrete overpour corner. Two fronts, one mission — and the progress shows.

Then Anthony shares something close to our hearts — a tradition the America Strong team has carried for years: R.E.D. Friday. Remember Everyone Deployed. Every Friday, a small salute packed with big gratitude for American soldiers — past, present, and future. 🫡

Built strong. Built proud. America Strong. 💪

Ep. 6 - Drill Baby Drill! 🔥
Bradley takes you right into the action on our Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Boardwalk project.
We’re facing one of the hardest challenges in the piling phase — drilling through a thick, rebar-packed concrete hillside that the Coast Guard poured back in the 1960s to fight erosion and protect this iconic landmark. After decades stabilizing the shoreline, it’s turned into a serious test, but our crew is powering through like pros.
We also hit a surprise field adjustment on the boardwalk layout, which called for some real-time discussions to keep everything on track, compliant, and done right for the long haul.
Good news — we’re already rolling into the next big step: framing the timber boardwalk while we finish the corner drilling. Momentum is building fast!
Tune in to Episode 7 to watch our team shine as we start framing this elevated boardwalk and turn the plans into reality.

Ep. 5 - Development of Restaurants & Condominiums at the Jupiter Lighthouse??

Anthony took a minute with Peter from the Bureau of Land Management to get straight answers about the vision, plans, and current construction happening at the Jupiter Lighthouse.

We’ve been seeing all the comments from the social media army — the questions, the concerns, and the noise. So we went directly to the source to clear the air.

If you’ve been wondering what’s really going on at this iconic location, this one’s for you.

Got questions? Drop them here.

We couldn't ignore the opportunity to rage bait 😉

Ep. 4 - Second test pile complete with engineers on site.
We expected the original pile driving setup might need adjusting, so we had the big blue Pile Master ready as backup. We switched over quickly and it drove the 12” pilings to -29’ embedment, exceeded the 9-ton capacity, and did it faster - without any failure.
Dramatic music in the Ep. 3 edit doesn’t mean it was a crisis. On marine jobs we regularly deal with shifting tides, sub-surface objects, strong currents, limited tidal work windows, equipment adjustments, and unexpected seabed conditions. Obstacles come up constantly - we adapt quickly and keep the work moving.
