Community Action House Resale South Grand Re-Opening! 🎉 We rounded out our work with Community Action House with a ribbon-cutting celebration at Resale South! ✂️

This renovation transformed the existing resale store, and once former grocery store, into a more functional and welcoming space, improving customer flow and sorting logistics throughout the store. After gutting the existing space, updates include new retail space, offices and a break room for staff and volunteers, staging and processing rooms, and an improved donation drop-off area complete with a canopy.

Make sure to check out the new mural by Joel Schoon-Tanis, located by the donation drop-off, celebrating all of the amazing work that Community Action House does for the neighbors in our community.

Summer Intern Recap! Meet Evan Berghorst! 👋

Evan is from Zeeland, MI, and is a rising senior at Cornerstone University studying Business Management and Finance. This summer, Evan worked as a Project Management Intern, gaining experience as a project engineer on two projects, assisting with the bidding process, and filling in as a site superintendent. He also spent three weeks learning finish carpentry, giving him a greater understanding of the trades and how they connect to project management.

As Evan heads into his senior year at Cornerstone, we’re excited to have him continue his role with Lakewood throughout the school year. Thanks for being part of the team, Evan!

Building Brighter Futures with Community Action Allegan County ! 🌟 🏗️

We recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Community Action Allegan County’s (CAAC) new early education center alongside CAAC board members & staff, community members, local representatives, and community leaders, marking an important investment in the future of children and families throughout Allegan County.

This Lakewood Architecture-designed campus features bright, modern classrooms, including eight classrooms dedicated to children ages 0–3 and one classroom for children ages 4–5, along with comprehensive family support services for infants, toddlers, and expectant families. The center will also feature state-of-the-art play equipment and resources designed to support low-income children and families throughout Allegan County.

Summer Intern Recap! Meet Coleman Groh! 👋

Coleman is from Rockford, IL and is an incoming junior at Hope College studying business and religion. After interning with Lakewood during the spring semester, Coleman stayed on through the summer, working alongside our Facilities Solutions team. This summer, Coleman managed our conference room remodel, gaining hands-on experience in budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and navigating the unexpected challenges that arise on a jobsite.

As Coleman goes into his junior year at Hope College, we are excited for him to stay on our team and continue his work throughout the school year. Thanks for being part of our team, Coleman!

Summer Intern Recap! Meet Clare Ziskey! 👋

Clare is from Troy, MI, and is an incoming junior at Hope College studying Civil Engineering. This summer, she worked alongside our General Superintendent, gaining hands-on experience through site safety inspections, coordinating and distributing site fire protection, evaluating PUD and zoning requirements for future site plans, completing her OSHA 30 training, and so much more!

We’ve loved having Clare on the team this summer and wish her all the best as she returns to Hope College this fall to continue her Civil Engineering studies!

Tiger Athletic & Community Center Grand Opening! 🐯 🎉

We’re excited to celebrate the grand opening of the Tiger Athletic & Community Center (TACC), a Lakewood Architecture-designed project bringing much-needed recreation space to the Shelby-Oceana County community!

Future JR Automation leaders! 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

JR Automation recently welcomed interns from across the country to tour their future global headquarters in Zeeland, MI. Nearly 40 interns had the opportunity to walk the jobsite, get a behind-the-scenes look at the project, and learn more about the construction process and the future of JR Automation.

A big shoutout to our project superintendents, Andy Ostrander and Jon Quist, for expertly leading this tour and sharing their knowledge with the next generation.

A first look & a grill out? Count us in! 🌭🏗️

The team at West Michigan Community Bank recently invited their staff in for a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of their newly renovated space before construction moves into Phase 2. We loved celebrating this exciting milestone by turning the first look into a grill out with the team. It was a great opportunity to share a meal together in their brand-new breakroom—which has already become a staff favorite!

Dirt is moving in Grand Haven! 🚜 Construction is officially underway on the new five-story Residence Inn by Marriott coming to the heart of downtown.

This project will bring much-needed lodging to downtown Grand Haven, connecting visitors to the shops, restaurants, and the waterfront that make this city so special. We're proud to help bring more energy to a community we love. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress toward a mid-2027 completion! 🏗️
