Weddings sure have changed since I got married 👵

But honestly, it’s amazing.

If you want artistry, that is GREAT! There are AMAZING florists who can bring your dreams to life in ways that truly astound me (and I have a list of names to send you if that’s you).

But for those with a stricter budget, who want to put their money towards something else, who want a simpler feel, and who are ready to DIY a bit - this could be an amazing option.

I have had SO many requests for Bulk Buckets this year - some showers and parties but mostly DIY brides - and it has been such an honor and privilege to grow flowers for them!

It’s simple.
It’s affordable.
And it’s beautiful.

I mean, this order was 😍😍😍😍😍

In some ways I don’t want to show you this and in other ways I do.

This isn’t a field you drive up to and get what you imagined in your mind - bursts of color.

Because we are always cutting from our flowers.

There is still SO much blooming but people have ideas in their mind🫠

I DO want to show you because this is reality.

A working flower farm means things are being cut and other things are working on sending out new blooms.

There’s always a bit of “this is blooming,” “we’re waiting on this to bloom,” and “oh yeah that bed really is not doing great” 😅

But here’s the great thing - you walk around, and you find so much more than you expected.

You find so many flowers to pick.

You also find peace and slowing down in the choosing.

You leave with a cup full of flowers and a soul a bit more at rest.

I hope you make it out to pick your flowers this year yet because you’ll find a special kind of joy 🤍

Every year a different flower seems to be one that HITS.

Sometimes because of how it fills a need.
Sometimes because of how I feel using it.

This year it is these buttery yellow marigolds.

Their color feels so calming and perfect.
It blends with the purples and pinks so beautifully, softening any palette.

They’re not huge so they don’t scream in your face (like the big orange marigolds, which I also LOVE but for completely different reasons).

They feel like they elevate the colors in your bouquet, but bring a sense of calm.

Silly that flowers can bring so many thoughts and feelings, but they do.

And this year, my heart is all in on these buttery beauties 😍

The dahlias are just starting.

And we are in abundance over here.

This is the time of year we wait for all year.
