☀️ As the North Carolina heat starts ramping up, our air conditioners are working overtime! But a roaring AC can sometimes lead to an unexpected microbial growth.
When the warm humid air outside meets the cold, conditioned air in your home, condensation is inevitable. With moisture being one of the necessary ingredients for mold growth, minimizing moisture buildup goes a long way to protecting your home.
Here are a couple tips to keep mold out of your comfortable home:
❄Keeping your AC set to a temperature that is too low can aid moisture buildup. Keep your temperatures comfortable but set them to the highest comfortable temperature.
🚪Keeping doors or windows open while the AC is running is a recipe for high levels of moisture in the home. If your doors and windows are kept open, your AC should be off.
🌬Not running your AC at all can lead to moisture issues. Modern AC units pull double duty of cooling the air and pulling moisture out of it. In our coastal climate, AC units being off all the time can lead to outdoor moisture to live inside.
If you do run afoul of moisture issues around your AC vents or anywhere else in your home, don't hesitate to give us a call. Our Medics are trained and ready to take care of your home.
