Kelikai began testing an auger cast pile (ACIP) installation program on the island in June. These piles will form the foundation for the Synagro/Hensel Phelps In-Vessel Bioconversion Facility Capacity Upgrades at the Sand Island Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
“This project will be the first time in Hawai‘i that a 36-inch-diameter
auger cast pile will be used as a deep foundation system for a structure,” Enright says. The piles will be drilled
to a depth of 98 feet.

Augercast (ACIP) piles are the fastest and most economical way to install a high capacity deep foundation building for a new structure or high rise.

Kelikai Inc has started it’s ACIP work at the new Iolani Student Learning Facility by installing the “O-Cell” test pile along with randomly chosen indicator piles to make sure we have a good handle on the ground conditions prior to production starting.
