We’re out in Andover, New Hampshire today, pulling off an old corrugated metal roof. Nails are failing, it’s leaking, and honestly it’s had a good run. Corrugated metal like this usually lasts 20 to 30 years, so this one’s earned its retirement.

Once we got it off, we found out why it was leaking. No underlayment. None. For those who don’t spend their weekends thinking about roofs, underlayment is the waterproof layer that goes between your decking and your roofing material.

It’s the backup plan for when wind, ice, or a bad nail lets water sneak past the surface. Skip it, and you’re one bad storm away from exactly what we’re looking at.

Fresh off another job in Bow NH.

This customer's old asphalt shingle roof was showing its age, so we replaced it with a brand new GAF Timberline HDZ architectural shingle in Pewter Gray.

These shingles are the top selling shingle in America, rated for 130 mph winds, and backed by a 25 year algae resistance warranty.

While we were up there we also relayed the chimney flashing so the whole roof system is sealed up right.

One thing homeowners always appreciate: we take care to protect landscaping during tear off, and once the job is done we run magnetic sweeps around the entire property to pick up every stray nail. We leave your yard the way we found it, just with a brand new roof overhead.
