It’s been a year of changes for me. New home, new state, new job, new (and first) daughter, new shop and it goes on. 2025 years as wild, but looking forward to 2026. Hope it was good for you, and from my and my family, have a great 2026 ♥️ 🤙

I had to add a quick new coat rack in my garage because the cold weather is upon us here in Tennessee (really?) and everyone’s jackets were all over our entryway!

I bought a cheap cedar plank and some hardware and got to work.

The router lift made this intentionally fast and cheap project super quick and look like it cost a lot more time and money 😂

Swapping bits, getting the right height for your workpiece, and the absolute smoothness this router lift has makes working with it a dream.

A while back also sent me some sanding discs to try, and those are heads and shoulders above anything else I’ve ever tried, and for the price I genuinely don’t think you can find a better product anywhere. They again, made this super cheap and fast project look like a million bucks.

I hope wherever you are and whatever your beliefs are, you are happy and enjoying time with family and friends this time of year. And from Emmett Designs, Merry Christmas!

Got to try this new dust mask from and it’s definitely a keeper.

Things I love:
✅super easy to adjust
✅filters last a long time and are easy to replace
✅doesn’t interfere with headphones, glasses, or hats
✅much more comfortable compared to my previous masks
✅built for extended wear
✅Breathable, light material

I don’t have anything that I don’t like after about 10 hours of use so far. Honestly a perfect mask for hobbyists, woodworkers, DIY-ers, etc.

The beginnings of my new shop! I’m having to make do with the garage again, which is fine.

The one good thing about having most of my tools on wheels is that I can have a completely stow-able shop. I think a few more days and I’ll be able to get back to making things.

Got to make some kitchen drawer inserts with my father-in-law and his measurements were basically perfect. We live about 100 miles away so there was no way of dry-fitting or testing them out first.

Once it was decided that they actually fit, they were glued in place.

Kind of a fun and easy DIY.

Got to make another one of these! The process was a little easier now that I figured out the ways that definitely don’t work. Have some potentially big things happening over the next few months, but hoping to spend some more time in the shop 👍

Also, thanks to for hooking me up with some great walnut a few weeks ago. Kurt’s a great guy and phenomenal at his craft.

If you’re in the Fayetteville area I highly recommend for good lumber at a very fair price.
