A declining Willow tree in Eden Praire is the home to two juvenile barred owls. Removing a hazardous Willow tree should be considered if it hangs over a home or a frequently used area. If not, a hollowed out Willow is a perfect habitat for wildlife.

We are super proud of these two graduates! 🎓🎓

Dalton and Boy both recently completed the three-year Arborist Apprenticeship program at Mid-State Technical College in WI. 🌳

Continuing education is important to us, and Shadywood proudly sponsored their tuition, time and travel to get their certification over the past three years, but Boy and Dalton are the ones who put in the work to pass with flying colors. They completed 6,440 hours of on-the-job training, 440 hours of paid related instruction, and multiple trips to Wisconsin.

Congratulations Dalton and Boy. You did it! 🥳🎉👏

These notes of thanks arrived after consulting arborist Jake Nitz spent a day with students from the Auburndale High School fish, forest and wildlife class. The feeling is mutual! It’s always good to connect with others interested in the environment and caring for the trees and plants around us.
