Our customers in the Timbergrove area wanted to remove & replace a large portion of the existing driveway. Their goal was to add a large carport and new concrete to improve the aesthetic of their home. A 3” height deficit between the driveway and the back door threshold was quickly recognized and needed to be corrected. This area held water when it rained and made it difficult for the homeowners to come and go without getting soaked. After the new carport installation, CURED removed the old concrete and properly graded / leveled the area and set forms for the new concrete. The homeowner installed a french drain overnight at the desired height and covered it with plastic to keep concrete out, as we were going to pour back early the next morning. CURED completed the pour back and voila! The drainage issue was solved and the newly finished concrete added to the overall aesthetic of the new carport. Our customers were totally satisfied with the outcome and even had us come back not too long after! CURED formed and poured a 240 square foot concrete slab in the backyard for a car lift that was scheduled to be installed a few weeks later.

Normally, our customers call us to add an addition. Sometimes, however, CURED is called on to make saw cuts for things like improving drainage or changes to plumbing & electrical via trenches during remodels.

This is one of those cases where concrete was removed instead of added. We saw cut & removed a section of concrete from an existing patio to improve drainage and keep water from pooling in the customer’s backyard.

Hump days signal the weekend is near but a hump in your driveway? …well, that’s signaling you are likely facing tree root intrusion. The best way to overcome this issue is to simply remove and replace the portion of your driveway affected. Often times (most, actually), the tree remains unaffected and your corrected driveway returns to a safe and stable place for your vehicle. More photos tomorrow to show you just how easily this correction can be done.

The Process - Part III: These homeowners are placing a 2 story storage shed on their property and needed a new pad poured. No breakout needed but we did add dirt to build up the height and level it for concrete. The shed is already being built and we will get final photos soon to highlight how this all comes together.

This is actually not the last part of this project and the following addition is not concrete (!) but it really ties all processes of the project together. In the next few weeks, it will be our pleasure to showcase how it all works to make a functional outdoor space.

The Process - Part II: In addition to the driveway, this project included a break out and re-pour of a small pad in the back corner of the customer’s home to convert an outdoor storage space to a pad to place a hot tub. It’s a bit larger space now and can handle the more substantial weight that a hot tub carries. Looking forward to the final photo for this space once it’s intended use is realized.

Check back in tomorrow for Part III of this multi-phase project.

For , this driveway was part of a job where we poured multiple pads. We broke out the existing driveway that was missing rebar (and therefore structural integrity we needed for their project since it will be getting a steel framed porte cochere) and poured a much larger driveway. Now this space accommodates three large trucks and works as a spot for smoking bbq (because ), having family get togethers and as an outdoor project workspace for these creative, crafty and constructive homeowners.
