👏 A big congratulations to our latest Line of Fire (LOF) honorees, Kevin and Isidro!

Kevin, our Journeyman Ironworker, earned this recognition after noticing a coworker having difficulty with an aerial lift. He quickly recognized the potential safety concern, stepped in to help, and made sure his coworker was safely lowered to the ground before work continued.

Our Ironworker Leadman, Isidro, also earned recognition for taking immediate action when he noticed unsafe ground conditions during a steel delivery. He stopped the operation, helped address the situation, and took additional steps to make sure others were aware of the hazard.

Both Kevin and Isidro are great examples of what our Line of Fire program is all about: staying alert, recognizing potential hazards, and taking action to help prevent incidents before they happen. 🦺

Congratulations, Kevin and Isidro! Thank you for taking the initiative, looking out for your coworkers, and making safety a priority.

At PBI, we believe ongoing training is an important part of keeping our people safe and prepared on the job. 🦺

Recently, nine PBI team members completed a Qualified Rigger & Signalperson Training program with All Purpose Crane Training. The one-day session covered important aspects of safe lifting operations, including hazard recognition, proper sling selection and inspection, rigging hardware, load weight and balance, and standard hand signals for clear communication during lifts.

The training also reinforced the importance of suspended-load awareness, safe positioning, and looking out for one another anytime lifting operations are underway. 🤝

Thank you to our team members who participated and continue to make safety a priority on the job every day.

Field QC Manager | Haskell, TX

Help lead quality control efforts in the field, including inspections, quality documentation, project-specific QC plans, and coordination with project teams. Candidates should have 5+ years of inspection experience and a strong understanding of structural steel construction. Current CWI and ICC Special Inspector certifications in bolting and welding are preferred.

Surveyor | Haskell, TX

Provide field surveying, layout, and quality-control support for structural steel er****on. This role works closely with project teams to verify building control, alignment, elevations, anchor rod locations, and as-built conditions. AutoCAD experience is required, with structural steel er****on experience preferred.

NCCCO Certified Rigger – Level I or Level II | St. Francisville, LA

Support lifting, rigging, and material-handling operations on industrial construction projects. Candidates must hold an NCCCO Rigger Level I or Level II certification and have at least three years of rigging experience.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and stand with the women and families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. 💗

At PBI, this cause is close to our hearts. Over the years, our team has been proud to give our time and support to organizations like the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the important work they do for those affected by breast cancer.

This month, we encourage everyone to check in with the women in your life, remind them about the importance of regular screenings, and show support for those currently fighting, those who have survived, and the families who have walked alongside them.

Executing a complex lift takes more than the right equipment. It takes detailed planning from the start. 🏗️

On one of our current projects, the PBI team recently erected two box trusses over two days using a 600-ton crane. Before it was time to make the lifts, our team worked through the details and coordinated each step of the process.

Using 3D Lift Plan software, we’re able to map out complex lifts in advance, taking into account load weights and dimensions, equipment, site conditions, and potential obstructions. It gives our engineers, field crews, and equipment operators a clear picture of the lift before work begins and helps everyone coordinate the details with precision. 📐

PBI has been using 3D Lift Plan software since its inception, combining this technology with decades of field experience to carefully plan and execute even the most complex lifts.

Join us in congratulating Benjamin, our September Commitment to Quality winner! 🎉

Benjamin, one of our Ironworker Foremen, earned this recognition after identifying and documenting some non-conformance work and bringing it to the attention of the project team. By catching it and speaking up, he helped make sure the issue was properly addressed in accordance with PBI's AISC Certification program requirements.

Quality takes everyone paying attention, speaking up, and taking the right steps when something needs to be addressed. Benjamin's actions are a great example of the commitment it takes to help PBI maintain high standards across our projects. 🏗️

We’re shining the spotlight on one of the newer faces at PBI who’s already making a great impression! 🌟

Alfredo joined PBI in July as a Site Safety Manager and is currently supporting our team on a project in St. Francisville, Louisiana. In just a few short months, he’s become a valued member of the team.

From day one, Alfredo has been ready to jump in and help wherever he’s needed. He takes the time to understand what needs to be done, works well with everyone around him, and brings a positive, professional attitude to the job each day. His strong civil engineering background and degree, along with his bilingual communication skills have helped him connect with team members and work effectively with those around him. 🤝
