Working on these dark walnut live edge tables back in 2022 was a milestone for me. I still remember how excited I was for the opportunity to work with such a large walnut slab for the first time. It was also my first experience using epoxy and adding bow tie inlays to stabilize the natural cracks in the wood.
From start to finish, this project pushed me creatively and technically. I designed and built the custom iron bases myself and had them professionally painted to complete the look. In the end, both the client and I were extremely happy with how everything turned out.
Looking back now, there are definitely details I would approach differently and even more creative ideas I’d bring to the table to make pieces like these truly one of a kind. That’s part of the process, always learning, improving, and evolving the craft.
