This Juneteenth, we honor a place deeply connected to Houston’s history.
 
In 1926, Riverside Hospital opened its doors to serve Houston’s Black community at a time when access to healthcare was limited by segregation. For generations, it stood as a symbol of resilience, service, and opportunity in the Third Ward.
 
As Riverside celebrates its 100th anniversary, its story continues through the restoration and revitalization of this historic campus. HarrisonKornberg Architects is honored to be part of preserving this landmark and helping prepare it to serve future generations.
 
On a day that commemorates freedom and progress, we reflect on the importance of preserving places that tell the stories of our communities and inspire what comes next.

HarrisonKornberg’s Terminal D Expansion at DFW Airport helps meet the needs of today’s travelers with four new gates, upgraded passenger amenities, flexible seating, concessions, restrooms and innovative View Glass technology that supports comfort and wayfinding.

Designed in partnership with Luis Vidal + Architects and ARUP, this 140,000-square-foot expansion gives travelers a glimpse at the terminal of the future.

Our annual firm retreat was a meaningful opportunity to step away from our daily routines and come together as a team. Through presentations, design activities, and thoughtful discussion, we reflected on where we are, where we’re going, and how we can continue strengthening our work together.

It was an extra special treat to host our meeting in a building recently designed by HarrisonKornberg. Thank you Harris County Precinct One, Rodney Ellis for having us!

Of course, we had to end the retreat with a little friendly competition during our “game show” day. A great mix of collaboration, creativity, and fun with the HarrisonKornberg team!

Our team had the opportunity to volunteer at Hermann Park’s Japanese Garden, helping care for a place that offers beauty, calm, and connection in the heart of the city.
