When a blast occurs, pressure is only part of the threat. Flying debris, equipment components and other fragments can quickly become dangerous projectiles.

The FORTRESS team recently used a hands-on demonstration to show how projectile impacts can affect people and structures during a hazardous event.
It was a memorable way to reinforce a serious point: protective buildings must be designed for more than blast pressure alone. Fragment and projectile protection are also critical when creating safer spaces for the people working in high-risk environments.
