Transforming existing spaces to meet evolving business needs is one of the many ways Block Companies helps clients get more from their facilities 🏢.

Our team worked on a CMA Interior Build Out project, reconfiguring the office space to better support our client's needs and future growth 📈.

The project included taking the space down to the studs, relocating multiple walls, adding 14 new offices, and constructing a large breakroom to create a more functional and efficient workplace.

Block Companies is proud to celebrate the successful completion of The Standard at Wilmont in Hendersonville, North Carolina, a 300-unit Class A multifamily community that brings high-quality housing to one of the region’s growing markets.

This garden-style, split-level development features modern residences and lifestyle amenities designed to provide a comfortable living experience while complementing the natural landscape of the area.

A special thank you goes to our Superintendents, Gene, Landon, and Hunter, whose hard work, leadership, and dedication helped bring this project across the finish line. We'd also like to thank our subcontractors and project partners for their outstanding communication, teamwork, and commitment throughout the project. Block Companies is hiring, and we’re looking to add an experienced Estimator to our Preconstruction team. 🏗️

This role supports multifamily, affordable housing, senior housing, workforce housing, market-rate, and related construction projects from early conceptual pricing through final bid review and turnover to Operations.

• Preparing estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Coordinating with subcontractors and vendors
• Developing scope sheets and pricing summaries
• Supporting budgeting, value engineering, and preconstruction planning
• Identifying project risks, scope gaps, and constructability concerns
• Assisting with project phasing and site logistics

The ideal candidate should have strong estimating knowledge, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience with multifamily or commercial construction estimating is strongly preferred.

Exciting progress is taking shape at the Knowles-Rowland supportive housing project in Houston, with plans to open this summer! 🏗️

Block Companies' project team is currently finalizing utility connections, inspections, and closeout activities as the development moves closer to completion and turnover.

The former Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth will soon serve as permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, providing 31 housing units, including 16 with accessibility features for residents with mobility or sensory impairments. Residents will also have access to services such as mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, case management, life skills training, and nutrition assistance that support long-term stability and independence.

We’re looking forward to seeing this project reach the finish line and make a meaningful impact for individuals and families across the Houston community. 💙
