We’re grateful to for the opportunity to share a few of the ideas explored in Refined Interiors.

The conversation centered on three principles that continue to shape our approach to design: getting the scale right, mixing periods and styles, and using color with intention.

Each speaks to the same larger idea—that a home should feel collected and personal, with every element contributing to the way the room is experienced.

We’re honored to be featured in the September/October issue of Southern Home.

This conversation was an opportunity to reflect on the ideas that continue to shape our work. Timeless design is not about following a particular style. It begins with enduring principles: thoughtful proportions, authentic materials, exceptional craftsmanship, and homes designed to be lived in for generations.

A pedestal can do a lot more than hold a sculpture.

We use them to give an awkward corner purpose, balance asymmetry, frame a view, or simply give a favorite piece a little more presence.

They bring height, rhythm, and dimension into a room without asking for much space in return.

One source we return to is . Their Dante and Alonzo pedestals have the clean lines and sculptural quality that make them easy to layer into very different interiors.

Sometimes, one small addition is enough to make a corner feel considered.

Save this for the next time a room feels a little unresolved.

There’s something we love about a room that lets people settle in their own way.

A seat at the bar, time around the table, or a place to stretch out on the sofa—each offers its own way to gather, while soft curves, warm tones, and sculptural details create a sense of connection throughout.

The goal was a space that feels beautifully considered, but never too precious to truly live in.

Not every bed belongs against a wall.

In this guest bedroom, floating the bed within the room creates a more compelling dialogue with the architecture—honoring its generous proportions, natural circulation, and striking corner steel windows.

Tinted plaster walls, a beamed ceiling, custom furnishings, layered textiles, collected art, and shifting natural light complete a bedroom that feels both unconventional and entirely at home in its surroundings.

Some things we simply won’t compromise on.

The details you may not notice immediately are often the ones that shape how a home feels over time.

From architectural proportion and lighting design to custom millwork, stone fabrication, hardware selection, art, and craftsmanship, each decision is part of a much larger whole.

It’s this level of consideration, from the architecture to the final layer, that allows a home to feel personal, cohesive, and enduring.

Some kitchens ask you to slow down.

For this home, the kitchen needed to support everyday life while still feeling calm and considered.Warm oak cabinetry, a plaster range hood, natural stone, and generous light create a quieter backdrop for the everyday things that happen here.

The details are considered, from the custom cabinetry and storage to the way the kitchen connects to the spaces around it. Nothing feels overly formal or precious. It’s a room meant to be used, gathered in, and lived with over time.

That balance between function and ease is something we return to again and again in kitchen design.
